REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: HEAD OF OPERATIONS
JOB PURPOSE
Ensures consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through unceasing research, aggressive strategies and action plans to improve short- and long-term sales and earnings.
Collaborates with Executive Director in establishing and recommending the most realistic sales goals for the company.
Establishes and manages effective programs to mentor, coach, appraise and train sales staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accomplishes marketing and sales human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, emotional feeding and disciplining sales & Marketing staff
Communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions.
Enforcing policies and procedures in the department.
Achieves marketing and sales operational objectives through contributing marketing and sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
Preparing and completing action plans, providing feedback information on quality and customer satisfaction
Ensures implementation of customer-service standards; resolves or refers problems, identifies trends in order to recommend system improvements and implement change.
Accomplishes marketing and sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs; developing field sales action plans
Forecasts department requirements, initiates annual budget proposals, schedules expenditures, tracks budget for timely corrective action.
Delivers gross-profit plans by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for branch staff, monitoring sales volume and profit.
Analyzes trends and results, pricing strategies, selling prices, costs, competition, supply, and demand and reports for executive action.
Identifies marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements, defining competitor’s market share, strengths and weaknesses
Forecasts projected business and targeted market share.
Oversees implementation of Public Relations policy and guides Corporate Social Responsibility
Market, competitor’s share, and competitor’s strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share.
DETAILED DUTIES:
Performs sales activities on major accounts and negotiates sales price and discounts in consultation with the ED.
Manages and develops sales and sales support staff.
Reviews progress of sales roles throughout the company.
Forecasts annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams.
Develops specific plans to ensure revenue growth in all JCS products.
Provides quarterly results assessments of sales staff’s productivity.
Coordinates proper company resources to ensure efficient and stable sales results.
Formulates all sales policies, practices and procedures and seeks executive approval.
Assists sales staff in establishing personal contact and rapport with top executive decision-makers.
Collaborates with Executive director to develop sales strategies to improve market share in all product lines.
Interprets short- and long-term effects on sales strategies in operating profit.
Educates sales team by establishing programs/seminars in the areas of new account sales and growth, sales of emerging products and multi-product sales, profitability, improved presentation strategies, competitive strategies,
Proper use and level of sales support, management of expenses and business/financial issues on contracts.
Collaborates with Head of Marketing & Sales to establish and control budgets for sales promotion and trade show expenses.
Reviews expenses and recommends economies.
Holds regular meeting with sales staff.

JCS Administration i.e. ED, CEO, CFO, HR and staff
External:
Customers and prospects
Advertising media, networks E.g. UMA, General public esp. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) beneficiaries.
CONTRIBUTES TO:
Contributes to the Financial Planning and Strategy, Marketing Concepts, Positioning, People Management, Sales Planning, Competitive Analysis, Understanding the Customer, Product Development, Client Relationships, Creative Services.
EXPERIENCE /REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Good leadership skills
Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information.
Proven ability to motivate and lead the sales team.
Experience in developing marketing and sales strategies.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, plus a good working knowledge
Professional body membership for best practice i.e. CIM
Good computer usage skills especially main-frame accounting programmes and spreadsheets
Tolerance, stress management and ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION
A minimum of a university degree in marketing or business studies or the equivalent professional qualification e.g. CIM.
A valid driver’s license
