About Britania:
Britania Products (U) Ltd. was set up in 1992 as a small unit for manufacturing biscuits and bread. A confectionery unit was added to this in 1998. To utilize the abundant natural resources of fruits and vegetables in the country, Britania Foods (U) Ltd., a modern fruit and vegetable processing unit blossomed into existence in mid 1995. In late 2002, Britania Products and Britania Foods merged and a new entity Britania Allied Industries Ltd. was instituted. The Corporate Office and the factory remained in Ntinda Industrial Area in Kampala, a contributory factor being the land owned by the company and available for expansion.
Job Summary: The Stores Manager will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective management of the company stores including raw materials, packing materials and finished goods.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the handling and receiving of all raw and packing materials / goods in the company and ensures that the correct entries are made in the ERP system.
Works closely with the Quality Control Incharge on the quality of materials / goods at receipt and during storage.
Maintains records & documentation of all materials/ goods received and issued e.g. GRNs, Requisitions Slips etc.
Ensures proper segregation & stacking of materials/ goods for easy identification and counting and should adhere to principles of ‘First in first out’.
Update the Production Departments on materials/ _ goods in stock on a daily basis.
Updates the Commercial and Sales & Marketing Departments on the stock position of the materials/ goods respectively.
Conducts daily and monthly stock reconciliation
Ensures the safety of materials/goods in the store at anytime
Maintain staffing levels consistent with business needs in liaison with the Administration Department to ensure excellent service
Should prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the Managing Director regarding stock levels, quality, conditions, and any other agreed information.
Processing all customer service issues such as queries and complaints in a timely and professional manner
The incumbent should inform and provide advice of any products before 6 months of the expiry date or any commodities below 3 months required buffer stock.
Prepares and/or oversees preparation of necessary reports and paper work
Maintains neat, clean and organized store environment.
Conducting any other related tasks that may be assigned by the Top Management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing and Supplies Management. Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in Stores Management or Supply Chain
A minimum of two or more years’ experience in Stores Management
Working knowledge of ERP System is an added advantage
The candidate should have skills and ability to identify issues, formulate opinions, make conclusions and recommend solutions.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent communication and report writing skills
Ability to work independently.
He/ she should have working knowledge of ISO and be able to comply with its stipulations.
Age: 40 years and above
