Job Summary: The Deputy Head Warehousing will work in liaison with the Head of Section to supervise the warehousing team and plan, co-ordinate and control the use of company’s warehouse storage facilities and services

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance of the SPIF warehouses to customs, safety and legal requirements at all times
Develop strategic solutions and plans to ensure continued warehouse business and profitability of all our warehouses
Ensure proper use, maintenance and accountability of the company’s warehousing facilities
Participate in the development and administering of the section budget
Oversee and coordinate Warehousing activities with other departments to ensure efficient service and smooth/continuous operations to the internal clients
Coordinate and supervise sectional activities with third parties and other country offices to ensure smooth, efficient, professional and cost effective warehousing operations
Ensure that the client cargo is handled in the safest and most professional manner
Ensures regular and accurate stock taking of client cargo in the warehouse
Follow up and coordinate with URA to ensure that client requests and customs related issues are sorted out in the fasted possible time
Periodically review and develop section procedures and processes
Maintain accurate data and avail warehousing related information to management and other stakeholders
Supervision and mentorship of the warehousing staff to ensure continued growth, motivation and efficiency of the team

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, International Business, Procurement and Logistics or any other related field
A Diploma in Customs Clearing and Freight Forwarding
Certification in the East African Customs and Freight Forwarding Practicing Certificate is an added advantage
A minimum of five (5) years working experience in Customs, Clearing and Freight Logistics especially in the warehousing section.
Previous experience in leading and coordinating teams.
Demonstrable aptitude for Teamwork
Demonstrable ability to people management
Effective communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to keep deadlines at all times
Ability to handle multiple tasks at any given time on a continuous basis
