Job Summary: The Business Development Manager will manage all operations, financial and administrative duties in the Company. The BDM serves as the first line Manager in the Company and is accountable for all operations, administration and finance (development of manuals and profiles; sales and marketing; bid preparations; contract administration) among others. The Business Development Manager will support the Chief Executive Officer in the supervision of all operations, administration and finance (development of manuals and profiles; sales and marketing; bid preparations; contract administration) among others.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Generate revenue growth and ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction with the products and services
Carry out Research and communicate information about target sectors, customers and competitors
Gain and share understanding of prospect’s organization, processes, business strategies, product or service offerings and decision-making structures
Works collaboratively with the company’s resources to define the approach and strategy for achieving client requirements
The incumbent will effectively negotiate with multiple levels of executive management within prospective client organization
Use in-depth knowledge and insight of key competitors to create compelling reasons for prospective clients to engage with the company.
Regularly communicate the status of opportunities, clearly articulate next steps and discuss potential risks with the wider sales and account management team in weekly meeting
Foster and grow relationships with senior executives at targeted companies through effective sales conversations and presentations primarily via the telephone and Web technology
Effectively articulate how solutions can address and impact an organization’s business objectives and operations
Initiate, participate and coordinate the preparation of the bid documents (Technical and Financial proposals), utilizing sound sustainable procurement practices/methods, while adhering to corporate policies and government legislation prior to submitting the bid documents to our clients
Perform an in-depth analysis of all bid documents/request for quotations to identify both technical, legal and administrative requirements of each bid
Actively monitor contracts, performance and consult with our clients to implement corrective action when required
Establish and propose potential business contacts through networking with a range of stakeholders e.g. customers, colleagues, suppliers and partner organizations
Establish and maintain strong relationships with our clients so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business deals and opportunities
Oversee and coordinate update of the company website content and company information materials like brochures, magazines, calendars among others

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate should hold a Master’s Degree in Sociology/Social Sciences or Social Work and Social Administration, Business Administration, Procurement or Environmental and or Engineering
At least five years’ experience in the consultancy services/project management and /or proposal/bid preparations.
Consistent successful solution sales experience with enterprise technology solutions companies or consulting firms
Demonstrated high degree of ethics and integrity and a connection with the organisation’s corporate mission and values
Outstanding record of achievement in his/her current position
Possess the ability to articulate a visionary message with senior executives
High energy, positive attitude and entrepreneurial spirit
Highly effective communication skills: written, oral, group presentations
Possess the ability to multi-task effectively in a high-paced environment, learn quickly and adapt effectively to change
Desire to work in a fluid and changing environment where you are continuously learning about various businesses and organizations
Knowledge of Bids preparations is an asset.
Working knowledge of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, Audits, Resettlement Action Plan, Safety Audits, Risk Assessment is an added advantage
Working knowledge of PPDA law is an added advantage
