Commissioner – Education Information & Communication – Kampala – Equal Opportunities Commission

About US:
The Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) was established by the Equal Opportunities Act of 2007 and is mandated to provide a framework for redressing imbalances which exist against the marginalized groups while promoting equal opportunities for all.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing and maintaining standards and guidelines for educating the public about equal opportunities issues
Responsible for publishing and disseminating reports on the Commission’s activities
Providing technical oversight on information and education programmes so as to foster public understanding of matters pertaining to the promotion of equal opportunities,
Providing technical leadership and guidance in administration of programmes to educate the public on the role and Commission’s activities
Regularly reviewing training programmes and evaluation reports
Actively monitoring and evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of education programmes.
Responsible for managing and administering the Education, Information and Communication Department
Soliciting for promotion of non-formal education including indigenous knowledge education
Mentor and appraising staff performance in the Education, Information and Communication Department
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The incumbent should possess an Honors Degree in Education, Social Sciences, and Bachelors of Science of Mass Communication from a recognized University Institution plus a minimum of a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education or Mass Communication.
At least ten (10) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been served at a level of Assistant Commissioner, Education, Information and Communication in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.
