About Whave Project:
Whave is implementing a Safe Water Security Programme in Northern Karamoja. The programme develops a self-sustaining rural water service through a localized results-based financing and public-private partnership. Our approach includes rehabilitation of water sources, regular monitoring through a comprehensive set of indicators, operation and maintenance services for reliability assurance and hygiene and sanitation promotion. The aim is to improve health and productivity of local communities through a reliable supply of clean water and improved hygiene.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Manager will take overall responsibility to manage the Karamoja field office staff and contractors, and will report to the Whave General Manager in Kampala. The role will require development and implementation of Whave Karamoja Safe Water Security Programme. This will include:
· Developing work plans, strategy and materials to deliver Whave’s objectives and targets
· Preparation and communication of high quality presentations and information materials
· Management/recruitment of field and administrative staff and monitoring and engineering contractors
· Management of Whave’s fixed assets, financial and administrative oversight of the field office
· Data management and analysis; regular communication with the General Manager in Kampala
· Co-ordination/liaison with local government officials and other civil society organisations

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The applicant should preferably hold Degree level education ideally in a scientific or engineering subject
· A minimum of two years staff management experience
· Previous experience, knowledge and understanding of community development
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Previous experience in programme design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, report writing
· Prior experience living and working in remote areas
· Excellent organisational skills
· Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Excel and Word
