About UEGCL:
Uganda Electricity Generation Company Ltd was incorporated in March 2001 under the Companies Act, 2012 on the basis of the Public Enterprises Reform and Divestiture Act, Cap 98 and Electricity Act, Cap 145. UEGCL is wholly owned by the Government of the Republic of Uganda. UEGCL’s key role is to – carry on the business of electric power generation and sale within Uganda or for export to neighbouring countries; build, operate and maintain Electricity Generation Plants; monitor the operation and maintenance of its Concessioned Assets – Nalubaale and Kiira Power Stations; provide Technical Support as and when required by the Government of the Republic of Uganda through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development; Implement Flagship Hydropower Plant Projects of Karuma (600MW) and Isimba (183MW; organize, support, encourage and maintain training facilities in technical and related fields, amongst others.

Job Summary: The Senior Business Performance Officer will facilitate the Department’s activities through coordinating the development and implementation of key innovative programmes and carrying out effective and efficient programmes monitoring for performance enhancement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct regular assessments of Departments and individuals on the level of compliance to strategic objectives set-out in the Company Strategic Direction 2015-2017.
Actively coordinate and organize regular performance evaluation workshops in line with the developed monitoring and evaluation framework.
Develop and maintain a credible and robust operating performance data base for Company performance indicators to enable comprehensive assessment of company operational efficiency and management decision support.
Actively participate in the design of performance improvement programmes/initiatives and innovations and continuous review of the Company Strategic Direction.
Take part in the development and review of company performance assessment systems.
Carryout regular updates and documentation and reporting of performance improvement related programs and activities.
Perform any other tasks assigned by management from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The Senior Business Performance Officer should hold a bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Management, statistics, or related discipline. A Postgraduate qualification in Engineering or Management will be an added advantage.
Affiliation to a professional body will be an added advantage.
At least four years’ of post qualification experience in a vibrant organization.
Possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Good communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards
Strong interpersonal skills and high level of integrity
Computer literacy skills
